AS IF!

As if I have a 6 year old. WOW time flys when your havin fun I guess. I truly can't believe she is 6 already. It seems like just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital. We have a tradition that the kids get to eat breakfast in bed on their birthday and they get to pick what it is they want for breakfast too. This year Kaiya wanted Tim Horton's. Geoff got up early (Thanks honey) and picked up Timmys for everyone. Kaiya and Jager made a deal that on Kaiya's birthday Jager could also have breakfast in bed as long as she can do the same on his birthday. It sounded like a pretty good deal to me. Well after a few crumbs and sprinkles in the bed Kaiya got to look through her baby book and look at all of the pictures. I think that was her favorite part.

July 29th is Kiaya's official Birthday but we planned a party for the 30th. On her real birthday I accidentally booked a hair appointment oops! Well it gave Geoff some time with her during the day and then My parents took her out for her birthday supper at Tony Roma's for RIBS Kiaya's favorite right now.

Kaiya said she just had to bring her new Baby that she got from Grandma Sommerfeldt. I called her during her dinner to see how it was going and she told me that she had to nurse her baby 2 times while waiting for her food. I kid you not she acually lifts her shirt and everything. I know, Oh my goodness!!!!

For Kaiya's "friend" birthday we booked Beaners for Kaiya and 6 of her friends. It was so much fun. They shut the whole salon down for an hour and did their hair, paint their nail and did their make-up. After the hour at the salon we all went to the new henderson park and had cupcakes and opened presents. kaiya loved being the center of attention. I still can't believe my little girl is really six years old already. It truly goes so fast. Our little kaiya is THE sweetest girl I have ever known. She is such a blessing in my life and love her more that I could ever express. Happy Birthday Kaiya I love you!!!!

Hot days!

So I was watching Mandy's kids a few weeks back and I just came across these pictures. It was a very hot day and grandpa's pool wasn't ready yet and the kids needed to cool off. The pool I bought looked REALLY BIG in the picture on the box, but when it was blown up it wasn't as big as I thought. Serious false advertising if you ask me. Anyways I filled up this bucket too and that's all Macy and Kaiya wanted to swim in, if you can call that swimming. All in all they cooled off nicely.

COOPER

Cooper is almost 6 months and changing so fast! I felt like I hadn't taken any pictures of him in while. They just grow up so fast and I don't want to miss anything. His face is sure starting to fill out now and I'm really enjoying how vocal he's becoming.

Monkey Boy

While we were at the spray park Jager decided it would be fun to climb a near by tree. This was him starting out clearly doing a good job.

This is him thinking maybe it wasn't his smartest idea and crying for help.

This is him getting mad at me for grabbing the camera instead of helping him down.

And finally this is him MAD!!! I guess he wont be climbing anymore trees.

Spray Park

This was our first time to the spray park this year, so i had to get a few pictures. Kaiya was the only one as usual who would strike a pose for the camera. Jager was too busy trying to drink the water. We went after supper around 6pm and it was perfect, still warm but not too busy. I think we will keep going at that time. Shhhh don't tell anyone or it might start to get busy.

Movie at the Mill

So last week we decided to beat the heat and bring the kiddies to a movie. We went to Monsters vs Aliens 3D. All of the kids had seen it but Mandy, Marty and I hadn't so it was fun. The kids can watch the same movie over and over at home so why not at the theater right? Macy little face wouldn't fit the 3D glasses, so she had to watch a blurry movie. She didn't seem to mind though. Kaiya was getting a little excited the last picture. Too much sugar I guess.

Cookie Lolliepop's

My mom told me about these fun cookies on allrecipes.com and I thought I would give them a try. They were alot of fun! The kids and I did them when we got all that rain last week. They are sooo yummy and very easy. The cookies are very tender and you don't even miss the icing. I think I will do these for Kaiya's birthday coming up.

This is how I wrapped the ones I gave away to make them look more like the real thing.
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup butter, softened
3 ounces cream cheese
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
assorted colors of paste food coloring
24 lollipop sticks

DIRECTIONS
In a bowl cream butter, cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat until smooth.
In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture. Stir till soft dough forms. Divide dough into fourths. Tint each with a different food color. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Working with half of each color, shape dough into 3/4 inch balls and for each cookie place 1 pink, 1 green, 1 blue and 1 orange ball together to make 1 large ball. Shape into a 12 inch long roll (like a snake), starting at one end, coil roll to make a 2 3/4 inch round cookie. Place cookies 3 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Carefully insert lollipop sticks into bottoms of cookies.
Bake cookies for 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and store in an airtight container.

This is all on you Geoff. Jager loves pop. I try and keep him away from it as much as possible, but Geoff is an addict. He brings home a BIG GULP almost everyday and as soon as Jager see Geoff come in the door he Say's "DAD" and immediately his eyes are scanning for his pop. Don't worry the pop can was empty, but I'm sure Cooper was breathing in the fumes, just enough to get hooked like Jager.

OBSESSED!

Ok it is official I am completely obsessed with recipe blogs. I use to love looking through recipe book until I was introduced to the blogging world. Now I can't stop myself, which is a really bad thing when I am trying my darnedest to get into shape. It is so tempting to want to try and bake everything I see. I find myself looking through blog after blog late at night getting ideas for cooking, baking and entertaining. Beware any of you who has not browsed through a recipe blog you might not what to start because it is very addicting and makes you hungry!

my morning helper

As I was cleaning out my garage and Geoff was upstairs sewing buttons on his pants (seriously). I came across this little tea pot. Immediately the kids wanted to wash it out an fill it up. As I looked at it I had the idea that this little tea pot could come in very handy. That night I told the kids to pick out a cereal they would like to eat for breakfast, actually both Kaiya and Jager for some reason are into mixing cereals lately so they picked a mixture of Mini wheat's and Multi grain Cheerios, yummy. Anyway I told the kids to get out place mats, bowls, and spoons and that they would be able to get their own breakfast in the morning when they woke up. I filled up the little tea pot with milk put it in the fridge and told Kaiya that it was her job to pour the milk into the bowls. The kids were soooo excited and so was I, because that meant that I could stay in bed that much longer, and with Geoff being in Vegas I thought the extra rest couldn't hurt right?
This little tea pot also reminded me of when I was a kid sleeping at my grandma Clark's house. She had this little creamer in the shape of a cow I think the cow was even wearing a little apron, anyways. when ever we would sleep over in the mornings she would fill it up with milk and let us pour milk on our own cereal. I loved it!
So for anyone looking for a little extra rest in the mornings and doesn't want their two liter jug of milk spilled on the floor, find one of these and there you go.

Lemonade for SALE!

So mom and dad decided to have a garage sale on Saturday and I thought they needed a lemonade stand. Come on who has a garage sale without one these day right??? Anyways that's what I told myself and decided why not CUPCAKES too. So I have to admit I think, ok I know I got a little more excited than the kids while planning my attack for Saturday. I think I must be trying to live out my childhood dreams through my own kids. I did a little research on lemonade stands and cupcake and came across this really cute idea for the cupcakes. We started out selling them for .25 cents each but they were selling way to fast so we inflated the price a little. Some guy complained a little, but I got rid of him real fast (sorry dad). Well the kids had a good time anyways.

Jager was so funny he would corner people that would be looking around and ask them if they would like to buy some lemonade and when they said yes, they came over and asked if they could buy a cupcake as well and Jager's response was "NO" I think he just wanted them all to himself. He sure did enjoy eating them the most.

Now Kaiya on the other hand was a great little sales girl. She would yell "Lemonade of sale and homemade cupcakes there DELICIOUS." She also would corner who ever showed up to have a look around. All she had to do was bat those pretty little eye lashes and they couldn't say no. All together the kids made $55.33 now you ask were did the .33 cents come from. That was from Jack and Macy's money stash they brought to buy some lemonade. It was so funny after Jack had handed Kiaya the money he said to her "when I go to the shops and buy something the lady always give me a back a dollar, sooo" He stood there with his little Palm open waiting for Kaiya to give him some change back. Kaiya tried to just give him one of the pennies back but he said " no I want on of the special silver ones." It really cracked me up.

I ran out of candies so only the first 2 dozen had these on them. But aren't they just darling. They are supposes to look like pink lemonades.
