Vegas for 3 days

So Geoff left for Vegas today to enjoy a UFC fight with some friends. He had planned to leave around 3ish. So 3 rolled around and it was time to say our goodbye's. First Jager gave Geoff a hug and kiss then it was Kaiya's turn. She seemed to be putting on a pretty brave face at first, but after a few minutes the water works were on full force. Now Kaiya is very much a Daddy's girl and is very sad when it come to Geoff leaving for more than a day. She cried pretty hard but Geoff still had to go. After he left the crying continued. I would have sworn that Geoff had died or something the way she was talking. Between each sob she would say "I'm going to miss dad's stories"," I'm going to miss him playing outside with me", "I'm going to miss him sitting by me at the table", "I'm going to miss his hugs and kisses." "I'm going to miss the way he plays with me." I continued to tell her about all the fun we would have while daddy was gone but none of it was helping, she was inconsolable. Kaiya then said she would like to call Grandma Sommerfeldt to tell her how sad she was. Kaiya knows she will always listen. So she calls Jesses and some how convinces her to take Jager and her to a movie to make her feel all better. So of course grandma agrees and off they went to a movie and out to eat at Wendy's.(thanks Jesse, I sure enjoyed the break) After they got home we went over to my mom's to work on our lemonade stand sign that we are having in the morning. All in all I think they had a great time because on our way home Kaiya says to me."Mom I forgot something, I forgot dad is in Vegas because I had so much fun today. What will we do tomorrow so I can forget again?" Oh my little drama queen. I can't wait for the teen years. Ahhhhhh

5 Months

Holy Cow I can't believe my baby is 5 months old already. Well time sure does fly when your having fun. Cooper is such a great baby. He is finally packing on some pounds.. I just had him weighed last week and he is now 11lbs 7oz. He has gained almost a pound since last weigh in. He has been sleeping soooo good as of late. I hesitate even saying that just in case I jinx it. For example last night he broke a record and slept 10 hours straight. I am lovin it seeings how Kaiya and Jager were terrible sleepers. He is so content and such a joy to have in our lives. We love him so much!

Carrot Flowers (too cute)

I got this idea off a blog I came across yesterday and had to try it (Hot off the garlic press.blogspot.com) it has such great ideas.
My kids loved them. It is a great way to get your kids to eat their veggies and it's really easy.

Who needs a lawn mower...

I cut the lawn today but didn't get around to weed whipping the sides. The kids decided it would be a great idea to cut it themselves. It was actually Jagers bright idea. Kaiya and I were doing some printing at the table on the deck while Jager played or so I thought. When we were done I came see what he was up to. There he was busy cutting the grass with his scissors. After Kaiya saw what Jager was doing she had to joined in on the fun. I could resist taking a picture. They were so proud of their work. They actually did a pretty good job. Let me know if anyone needs two hard working kids to trim their lawn with good old scissors.

Petting Zoo

This is Kaiya and Jager at the petting zoo. It was the last field trip of the year. They sure had a blast. Jager loves being included in things. Kaiya was so brave feeding all of the animals. There was a crazy goat named Strawberry that tried to eat everyones hat. It sure was a hot one that day. We brought Cooper as well, he did pretty good but was ready to go home for a nap by the end of it.

Awww...

Awww...
Kaiya is such a great BIG sister. She loves her brothers so much. Kaiya is growing up way too fast. She loved to read stories to them. She's learning but can't really read yet, but loves to make up her own stories. I am so grateful for her and all of the help she gives me with her brothers. You name it she can do it. While I am feeding Cooper she will often help Jager get his Jammie's and make him a snack. I know she will be the most amazing mom one day.
The other day I was working out doing Turbo Jam (ok you can laugh) anyways there were a few of the girls wearing little half shirts and Kaiya says to me "Mom you shouldn't let Jager watch this. When I'm a mom I will never let my kids watch this show with girls showing their bare bellies." Too funny. I hope I wont have to remind her of that when she is older and picking out her own wardrobe.

Science Center

We took the kids on a little road trip to Calgary last week. Staying at a hotel, any hotel as long as it has a water slide is Kiaya and Jager's most favorite thing in the world. They are pretty easy to please. While we were there we decided to go to the Science Center for the day.
When we first got there I hated it. It seemed so chaotic, kids every where and no workers manning any of the stations. After exploring a bit more it was really fun. They have so much to look at and do for the kids. They also have an outdoor playground, but it was raining that day so it was closed, which was kind of a bummer. All on all we had a great day and Cooper was really happy so that made it really easy.

After spending the day at the Science center we went out the Keg for dinner. It was really yummy and the kids were surprisingly great,

Scrawny legs

Cohen and Cooper are only about two months apart, but check out my kids scrawny legs. It's funny to see them side by side. Maybe one day Cooper will catch up to him. Too cute!

Funny

Ok I could resist posting this picture. I had just finished putting Cooper in his chair ready to go out. I went into the kitchen to grab the keys and I hear Kaiya giggling over by Cooper. I came over to see what was so funny and this is what I found.

I'm sure he will get revenge some day.

Sun Fun

We went to Galt Gardens for family home evening. The kids had a blast getting wet.
The only problem with going on a outing for Family home evening is that when we get home Kaiya thinks every family home evening has to have a lesson with coloring she gets so upset that we usually have to do it when we get home no matter what time it is. Kaiya has always been such a great example to us.

Oh man this kids makes me laugh so much!

Love those blue eyes

Jager has been blessed with the most beautiful blue eyes and I love getting pictures of them, especially when gives me a real smile.

Jager is loving riding his bike this year. He's getting pretty fast. When kaiya and Jager ride together they are always trying to pass each other.

Early teether maybe?

You would think he was teething or something. One of Coopers favorite things to do lately is suck on his own hand or dads finger. Geoff's pinky must have been extra yummy because he was really going to town. I think Geoff loved the attention. Cooper is now 4 months. We just had him weighed today and he has finally gained a little. He is now 10lbs 10oz. I have been giving him 2 bottle a day to up his fat and it seem to be helping a little.

The Bug Catchers

Jesse is always on the hunt for little treasures for the kids. She found these bug catcher watches in the states (of course) and the kids had so much fun looking for lady bug to put in them. Kaiya found 8 of them. Needless to say it was a little bit crowded in there.

Picture scavenger hunt

Kaiya and I had a picture scavenger hunt last week while Jager and Dad were at gymnastics. I got this Idea from KD Wolsey (thanks)
Kaiya had so much fun finding everything on her list and taking pictures of them.

She had to find:
1 dandelion
1 fire hydrant
1 piece of litter
1 baby tree
1 dog
1 red car
1 flower
1 park
1 park bench
1 girl on a bike
2 rocks

We did the scavenger hunt while making our way to visit Grandma and Grandpa Wolsey. Kaiya has always loved taking pictures so this was the perfect activity for her.
Now I have to admit something. When I signed Jager up for gymnastic my intentions were for me to take him, but the last 2 or 3 weeks Geoff has taken him so I could get a few things done around the house. Anyways Kaiya woke up one morning and was asking who was taking Jager to gymnastic that day, I told her that daddy was taking him. Kaiya got a very disappointed look on her face. I asked Kiaya why she looked so disappointed with me staying home with her. She said that it was because when I take Jager, Daddy plays with me and when Daddy takes him I'm always cleaning up. I felt really bad. I made a promise that we would do a 10 minute tidy together and then the rest of the time we would do something fun. Well anyways the scavenger hunt was one of those fun things we got to do together instead of cleaning up.
